How we check the venues we list

Each listing goes through a short, repeatable set of steps. The checks are plain and mechanical, so the same inputs lead to the same result.

• Website reachable: we open the venue site the way a browser would, with a short timeout. A site that returns an error, has expired or shows a parked or for-sale page is flagged. A site sitting behind a bot wall is not treated as dead.
• Location sanity: the pin is compared with the middle point of all venues in that city. A pin well outside that range is flagged for a second look; a pin far away, with an address naming a different city, is rejected.
• Map pins: when several venues share the exact same pin (a city-centre geocode), or the pin is missing or clearly off, the entry is published without a map pin because its exact spot is unconfirmed.
• Duplicate signals: the same phone number, the same website domain (social networks aside) or near-identical names inside one city are flagged as possible duplicates and reviewed by hand.
• Other flags: a name that looks like a web address or scraped text, no photo at all, or neither a website nor a phone.

We never show prices. Readers ask the business directly. Hours are handled the same way: a submission-form default (empty, all day, or the same start and end time) is never printed. Opening hours appear only when the venue has confirmed them.

Photos on venue cards are the ones the businesses supplied. Our page texts, including city intros and category pages such as erotic massage, adult massage and tantric massage, are written for AdultPlaces from the facts we have confirmed. They are not copied from venue adverts.

Every check ends in one of three results.

• Passed: shown on the city page, with the fields we were able to confirm.
• In doubt: hidden until a reviewer clears it, with a short written note explaining what to recheck.
• Rejected: never shown.

Cities roll out in small batches: a city page is only published once its venues have been through this cycle. You can see the first batches on Prague, Budapest, Bangkok, New York and Ho Chi Minh City.

A paid featured spot puts a business first on its city page, gives it its own page and marks its outbound website link as sponsored. Paying for this placement does not skip any check. If a featured business is in doubt, it waits with the rest until a reviewer clears it.
